The importance of water needs to be talked about early on

Date created 06.02.2025

As part of the PoVE Water project, we pay great attention to raising awareness in the water sector and involving the new generation. As part of the work package “WP5 – Bringing new young people into the water sector, raising the profile and improving awareness”, we visit kindergartens and schools to talk about the importance of water and explain how clean drinking water reaches our homes.
Yesterday, February 4, we visited the Paide Sookure kindergarten together with the EVEL representatives, where we talked with the children about the water cycle and the role of water in everyday life. The children were very curious, listened with interest and shared their knowledge and asked interesting questions. To make the topic even more playful, they were also able to get involved themselves - we made little men out of water pipes together, which provided a lot of joy and developed logical thinking.
We believe that developing water awareness starts at an early age. If children understand where and how clean water reaches our homes, they will be able to value water more and use it more economically in the future.
Such meetings show how important it is to value water from a young age. We will continue with similar visits in the future to bring water knowledge to even more children and students.
