As part of the PoVE Water project, we pay great attention to raising awareness in the water sector and involving the new generation. As part of the work package “WP5 – Bringing new young people into the water sector, raising the profile and improving awareness”, we visit kindergartens and schools to talk about the importance of water and explain how clean drinking water reaches our homes.
Educators from across Europe recently gathered in the Malta for an intensive training week focused on scaling up vocational education and training (VET) in the water sector, hosted by the PoVE Water project. Participants gathered at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) to delve into cutting-edge pedagogical approaches and explore innovative learning technologies.
Olaine College of Technology of Riga Technical University (hereinafter – RTU OTK) welcomed students and teachers from the Netherlands, Malta, Estonia and Latvia to give students and educators the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about the water management industry and its global challenges. It was achieved by relevant lectures and discussions, laboratory work and insite visit to the wastewater treatment facilities of JSC “Olaines ūdens un siltums”.
The annual PoVE Water meeting took place from 18 to 22 November 2024, this time taking the project teams to South Africa. The PoVE delegation was hosted by the Stellenbosch University. Read EVEL’s summarylink opens on new page of what was seen and experienced.
Estonian and Latvian water sector specialists met on April 25-26 at the Ojako recreation center in Pärnu County.
From 7th to 8th of May, the second transnational meeting of the cooperation project IncluVET was held at the Slovenian vocational school SIC Ljubljana (Technical Education Centre Ljubljana).
In addition to the usual part concerning administrative issues (project progress, economy, environmental sustainability, distribution activities, etc.), the meeting also tested primary lesson plans, which are designed to involve low-motivated students in the learning process. In addition to inclusion, innovativeness and universality are also important for lesson plans
